In his return to ARCA Menards Series racing, Sam Mayer added to his already impressive road course resume with a dominant win in the ARCA Menards West Series’ General Tire 200 from Sonoma Raceway.
Mayer prevailed over Tyler Reif, who finished second in his pursuit of the West championship, while his primary competition for that title, Sean Hingorani, finished third.
After starting from the pole, Mayer battled with Sawalich in the opening stages of the race, with Sawalich prevailing to pace the field. He opened up a sizable gap on his competition, with the rest of the top five also distancing themselves from the field before a caution for a Nick Joanides spin.
